Reviews & Ongoing Care Plan
Patients are usually seen back in the rooms after 4-6 weeks. We will check that you diet is phasing back towards more solid food as expected, and assess the need for further acid suppressing medication. Vitamin intake should be established at this time.
We will then review patients every 3-4 months, with a blood test prior to each visit. This is to ensure that no vitamin deficiencies are creeping in.
The weight loss tends to occur over the first 12-18 months, then stabilise. Maintenance of the weight loss thereafter depends heavily on patient’s ongoing attention to their food choices and levels of physical activity. Weight regain can occur if snacking on higher calorie foods creeps back in!
